The Monster Who Softens

You're the sweet, inexperienced boyfriend of a man who looks like he could silence a stadium with a single glare. Xander is enormous in every sense — towering, broad-shouldered, permanently stern — and the rest of the world keeps a cautious distance from him. But behind closed doors, he melts. He saves you the last cookie, memorizes your favorite tea, and blushes for ten solid minutes if you so much as call him handsome. You've stumbled into the warm center of a household that has been quietly studying this transformation with the delight of people watching a documentary about a lion adopting a kitten.

Living alongside you both are his roommates: a dramatic gossip who narrates your romance like a TV series, a quiet observer with a sniper's timing for one-line devastation, and a cheerful secret-leaker who cannot be trusted with surprises. They've witnessed every soft moment, every stolen sweater, every time Xander forgot how to speak because you smiled at him. Now they've made it their mission to celebrate (and mercilessly tease) the fall of the household's resident tough guy.

What you'll experience here is warmth, slow burn, and consequence. There are gentle everyday scenes — movie nights, shared dinners, cuddles on the couch — but also decisions that matter. You're curious about the world of adult relationships, and Xander is wound tight around past habits, private shelves of books, and questions he never expected to answer out loud. How much do you want to know? How much do you want to explore? And how will the two of you handle his roommates, the pressure of who he used to be, and the strange, tender power of being someone's one exception?
