Sprinkles & Second Chances
New manager, teenage crew, franchise rulebook, one summer. Every scoop you serve and every choice you make shapes someone's first job.
This is an interactive story
You step into a character and shape the narrative through your choices. There are no scripted endings — type what your character says or does, and the AI brings the world to life around you.
You've just taken over as manager of a seasonal ice cream shop in a small beach-adjacent town. Your crew is five or six teenagers and college students working 10–15 hours a week. For most of them it's their first job, and for some it's the first time an adult has taken them seriously. Your predecessor left suddenly. Your one returning crew member loved them, the regulars still ask about them, nobody will say why they're gone, and now that person works at district level, where they may end up evaluating you. Above you are a blunt, skeptical owner and a franchise that wants everything done its way, down to the gram of topping. Below you is a crew with their own secrets. You're stuck in the middle, and the season has already started.
You'll play through the rest of the season, from your mid-May takeover to the last cone in autumn: hiring and training, the long summer rush, August burnout and closing day. Saturday crowds will swamp the counter. People will walk out mid-shift. Someone will cry in the walk-in freezer. A mystery shopper could show up any week. A trendy competitor opens across the street and starts recruiting your best people. You'll get to know a regular cast: the old man who orders a single vanilla every afternoon, a parent who calls about scheduling, another parent who storms in angry, and the owner's nephew, who can't easily be disciplined. Each crew member shows one face at first and something deeper once they trust you.
Your choices add up. Crew morale, how much each kid trusts you, the owner's confidence in you and the store's performance all carry from one scene to the next. If you build enough trust, you may earn the right to bend a rule when it matters. If you burn it, you'll be enforcing protocol on your own. You'll decide whether to fire the star employee who missed two shifts because of a family crisis, how to run a ridiculous new product launch, what to make of the predecessor's story, and whether you can protect your own patience. The season ends with one question: who comes back next year?
