Ridgewood Rovers
They need someone who believes in them. You're not sure you believe in yourself.
This is an interactive story
You step into a character and shape the narrative through your choices. There are no scripted endings — type what your character says or does, and the AI brings the world to life around you.
You're recently laid off, and trying to stretch your Universal Credit through another week. You haven't coached anything in your life. But you played for the Ridgewood Rovers as a kid, back when the club meant everything to you, and on a grey Saturday afternoon you've come to watch the under-13s because it's free and it gets you out of the flat.
What you see is a massacre. Fifteen-nil to Eastbridge Academy, and a red-faced coach screaming at his own players — including his thirteen-year-old son — before storming off and leaving sixteen devastated boys standing in the rain. You know what it feels like to be told you're not worth the effort. You're living it right now.
So you step forward. Not because you're qualified. Not because you have a plan. Because someone has to, and your feet are already moving.
Now you're the volunteer coach of a team that's forgotten how to believe in anything, and you're not entirely sure you believe in yourself either. You've got no budget, no coaching badges, and a tactical knowledge built entirely from watching Match of the Day. What you do have is heart, stubbornness, and the memory of what this club once meant to a kid who needed somewhere to belong.
Success here isn't trophies. It's the moment a forgotten player scores his first goal. It's a boy who stopped talking learning to trust again. It's proving — to them and to yourself — that showing up and caring is enough.
